The Global Centre for Academic Research (GCAR), established in 2018 by Prof. Mokone Solomon Lebese and Prof. King Costa, addresses the research language gap for postgraduate students in South Africa. Renowned as GCAR, this institution, under the auspices of South Valley University in Zambia, a registered Private Higher Education Institution with the Higher Education Authority of Zambia, has successfully conferred over 30 PhDs across various disciplines, focusing on business leadership and management.

All GCAR programs are accredited by South Valley University, with learner achievements duly recorded by the Zambia Qualifications Authority. The institution has forged partnerships with several institutions in the Southern African Development Community (SADC), including Swaziland, where GCAR’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor serves as the Chancellor of AMADI University College. Additionally, collaborations extend to institutions such as Bindura University of Science Education in Zimbabwe.

Moreover, GCAR has established meaningful alliances with the Open Learning University in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and various universities in the Philippines, exemplified by its active membership in the Asian Qualitative Research Association (AQRA). The institution is also actively involved in the World Conference on Qualitative Research, with affiliations in Portugal.
